How does our nonprofit organization choose where we go?

  • Each area must have 200-500 children within a 3-hour radius.
  • There must be a contact person or organization in the area willing to help us coordinate and determine what supplies are needed from our nonprofit organization.
  • It must be a place that has a safe environment to bring children into.

Kids who go on orphanage trips...

  • have a desire to learn about charity and giving to those less fortunate
  • will raise funds to cover their personal mission expenses
  • will participate in a minimum of three charity fundraisers for the purchase of supplies for orphanages
  • meet the qualifications in the application

Our Program

There are several activities for each delivery trip:
  • Shopping – for specifically requested supplies for each destination
  • Performing – skits teaching good morality and character
  • Public Speaking – team children speaking about themselves and why they want to help others
  • Presenting – an overview about A Touch of Hope is given by the president
  • Playing – games played with the children
  • Distributing – supplies handed out to designated children
  • Working – trips often include a project which benefits children in a village or orphanage or helps them become self-sustaining
Children are not required to participate in the program to receive their supplies.  A Touch of Hope’s goal is that team children and adults get a real life look at how others live around the world.  By meeting physical and emotional needs and getting to know the children at each destination, the hope is to instill a desire in children to be more compassionate.  The experience should bring new insight and inspire them to share with others at home.
